I n my twenty-five years helping people with small businesses, I find most did not plan or expect the various setbacks endemic in self-employment. Several seemed to quit just before the finish line. So what can we do? I believe the secret is celebrating the wins, and not just the out of the park hits. The small incremental successes by their very nature add up. So how do you celebrate? Is it a Tim Horton’s dark roast every tenth cold call? Is it ten Jelly Belly jelly beans for every ten sales letters that go out? I suggest take fifteen to twenty minutes and process what a win looks like for you, and if you are in an expansive mood, imagine achieving that small win and mentally drink that dark roast, or eat those jelly beans, and get your mind set up for winning! Till we chat again, Wayne]]>
