Idea ExchangeIn a previous post, I alluded to the Movie Back to the Future. Well, I’m at it again.

This “new” idea was published first in 1937. I am referring to Napoleon Hill’s seminal work, Think and Grow Rich.

This book, with How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie, are in my opinion the two must read books of the 20th Century.

The point I want to feature here in Hill’s Book, is the “Master Mind Group” Why is it still relevant? It is the last century’s answer to social networking.

I offer two observations. First, and more important than  it might seem,  having peers whom you like and trust can help prevent the loneliness and self doubt that small business can bring.

Second – signal to noise ratio. By which I mean to say; Google or Twitter may offer 100,000 hits from random strangers, but the people you like and trust can probably offer more thoughtful help and encouragement.

So, find four to six peers, meet weekly, discuss challenges you are having, where you are going, celebrate your wins, and keep good notes!

Let me know how this goes, I would love to know.

Till we chat again,
