Today is a topic you have probably not heard much about: Spiritual Life coaching.
For Life Coaches, much of our business is helping lose that revolving 20 pounds, saving that 5000 dollars, or getting that promotion. This is all well and good, but if you think about it for a minute, it’s is all about the doing and the having, and rarely about the being. The danger can be that on achieving that big goal, it becomes the new normal, so it is back to the search.
Whether you are reviewing Zig Ziglar, Jack Canfield, or even Tony Robbins, they all mention the Spiritual side. It is not focused on, possibly because it is so hard to define let alone explain.
Now before you zone out, I am not talking about a specific denomination or even a faith group, I think you will agree that even agnostics wrestle with this challenge. They may not agree with my own opinions, or any faith group’s packaging, but they will usually agree there is more there than what they can touch, taste, or feel.
Part of the problem as I see it is the Evangelical culture which is often confused with a one and done approach. Say this prayer and wham you are filled! I ask you, the day after a great banquet, do you still eat?
May I take a moment to assure I am not trying to convert anybody to anything. I am only trying to help people find a well-rounded and complete life that is more than just getting more stuff! And yes, I am preaching to me first (feel free to warn me about obsessing over computers or vintage cars).
So, now what? If you have been feeling for a while that this an area which you would like to get a better handle on, or to use “coach speak” develop some clarity about, please contact me. I think this is so important that I’m offering our first meeting over coffee or zoom on me.
Let me also assure you I am merely the guide on the side, not the sage from the stage. I don’t have all the answers, but I do ask great questions!
Reach out and let’s talk,
